Jeff Bauman is probably the most recognized victim of the Boston Marathon bombing, notably because of the gruesome photo of him being wheeled away with his legs blown off. In the days after, he has made remarkable strides both physically and mentally. He has been an incredible inspiration.
Not only did he help authorities track down the terrorists behind the attack, but he has since thrown out the first pitch at a Red Sox baseball game.
And now he achieved perhaps his most remarkable feat yet – he has taken his first steps with the help of prosthetic legs, countless doctors, and unbelievable perseverance.
“You only look forward,” Bauman said. “I had a lot to live for before, and I’ve got a lot to live for now.”
