Kai’s mother posted this to social media: “Last night, Kai was moved to the cancer care unit. I folded her clothes and put them away in her drawers. I went to find where the laundry bin was, & instead found a “chemo waste” bin. Kai has a runny nose and a new cough today, so we were put in isolation. I wore a mask everywhere I went to protect all the other cancer care unit patients. So far, everything has been surreal and hard to believe. My anxiety picked up ten fold x ten fold last night when she was transferred to the cancer unit – We are even closer to the next chapter of her battle. The plan, as of this morning, is to start her on chemo on December 9th…Weeks earlier than what was previously discussed. I’m having a hard time accepting my little lady will be spending this year undergoing aggressive therapy to treat her aggressive brain cancer. I would do give anything to be able to take her place.”
